NPR CITES NYLPI’S “LEFT BEHIND” REPORT ON STORY ABOUT LYFT DISABILITY LAWSUIT

NPR cited NYLPI’s “Left Behind” report in a story about a California lawsuit targeting Lyft this morning. The report, published in May 2018, found that for-hire vehicle services like Uber and Lyft fail to provide accessible vehicles to wheelchair users 70% of the time they are requested in New York, and other similar apps like Via don’t even offer accessible vehicles.

The report was covered, on its release, by The Washington Post, The Verge, and Amsterdam News, and the Gotham Gazette. We subsequently published an updated version of the report featuring stories of those who are affected by the ongoing problems, in May 2019.
