NYLPI gave two sets of city council testimony today about the school bus system, from Director of Organizing and Strategic Research Justin Wood and Senior Disability Justice Advocate Paola Martinez Boone.

Mr. Wood spoke about the environmental justice burdens of school bus depots, and the unequal burden that toxic emissions from bus engines place on New York’s environmental Justice communities, including a map of bus depot concentration. Ms. Boone spoke about the numerous problems faced by students with disabilities in their transportation to and from school.
