NYLPI Health Justice Director Laura Redman will present NYLPI’s medical-legal-community partnership today on the panel “Building Provider Networks and Utilizing Technology Solutions” at the national Roundtable Event: Health Care Access in Immigration Detention Centers organized by Jones Day.  Laura will outline NYLPI’s work recruiting and training doctors to advocate for better care or release from immigration detention.  This network is part of NYLPI’s campaign to improve medical care in immigration detention, which includes advocacy, litigation, and systemic reform strategies.  For more information, please read NYLPI’s Detained and Denied: Healthcare Access in Immigration Detention, an investigative report detailing the deplorable conditions and lack of medical attention at the ICE jails.
