Faced with an accelerating climate crisis and the emerging links between COVID-19 and air pollution, NYLPI and our partners are fighting for a clean energy future for New York City and State. There is no better place to start than by replacing outdated and costly fossil-fuel “peaker” plants – power plants that only operate on the hottest days when energy demand is highest and air quality is already at its worst – with renewable energy generation and storage solutions that create good jobs in front-line communities.
