Director of Environmental Justice
Rachel Spector is the Director of the Environmental Justice Program at NYLPI, where she leads NYLPI’s work advocating for improved environmental and health conditions in low-income communities and communities of color in and around New York City. Before joining NYLPI in 2014, she was a Clinical Teaching Fellow at Fordham Law School, where she supervised law students providing legal assistance to community organizations, workers’ centers and cooperatives. Previously, she was an attorney at MFY Legal Services representing low-income workers and tenants and a law clerk to the Honorable Shira A. Scheindlin in the Southern District of New York. Rachel received her J.D. from The City University of New York School of Law and her B.A. from Barnard College.
